Meso and Lipo therapies are the latest FDA approved procedures for spot-reduction of cellulite and fat. These non-surgical, minimally invasive procedures are currently being performed on the eyes, chin, jowls, arms, bra handles, love handles, abdomen, hips, thighs and buttocks. The fact is cellulite is different than fat. Cellulite appears when fat cells become trapped in the dermal area (or mesoderm) of the skin. These cells then swell, resulting in the "orange peel" or dimpling effect. 90% of post-pubescent females will develop cellulite, which is believed to be caused by several factors including heredity, smoking, lack of exercise and poor diet, and lactation. Pharmaceutically compounded substances such as Phosphatidyl choline are injected into the dermal layer of skin, where fat and cellulite accumulate. The combination of substances lyse (or destroy) the fat cells and transport the cells through the lymphatic system where they are naturally eliminated from the body. Mesotherapy and Lipotherapy are not weight loss programs; however, both treatments can spot reduce cellulite and fat that diet, exercise and even surgery can not help. Enjoy a complimentary consultation at Radiance Medspa to determine if Meso and Lipo therapies are the right treatment option for you.

Almost all women have cellulite. In fact, cellulite plagues more than 80% of the adult female population. There are many causes for cellulite including diet, exercise, genetic predisposition, and inevitable lifetime hormone changes. These factors cause the fat cells in the subcutaneous fat layer to enlarge and stick together inside the pockets in which they are enclosed. The pockets are stretched upward while the fibers between the pockets are strained. Circulation may be inhibited, and toxins and water can be trapped. The result is cellulite.

Cellulite may not respond well to weight loss, exercise, or creams. However, a new technology called Dermosonic® is delivering results. Many patients say they can see improvements after only one session

The dual modality of ultrasound and vacuum pressure massage on the surface of the skin serves as the catalyst for the Dermosonic Method.

Ultrasound is the first step in the session. The ultrasound is applied to gently warm the underlying layers of the epidermis and dermis, preparing the tissue for the benefits.

On average, the Dermosonic program calls for 2 sessions per week. Sessions take about 50 minutes. Generally, patients may see significant changes within 6 sessions, but 12 sessions is the average number of suggested sessions. Monthly maintenance sessions are recommended to increase the longevity of the results.
